Announcements

Achieving Success Together: Most of our students move on to top UK universities to do highly competitive undergraduate programmes. Medicine (8 students), Engineering (8), Pharmacy (4), Law (3) and Dentistry (2) featured prominently among our class of 2009.

Result Days

This year the GCSE and A Level results are out quite late. Students are asked to come to the college after 10:00am to pick up their envelopes. Please note that if you can not make it to the college on the day, you can phone in. However, you must do so after 12:30pm. Results will only be given over the phone to the students themselves.

The result days are:-

A Levels, Thursday 19th August

GCSEs, Thursday 26th August

Prom Night

This took place at the Manchester MacDonald Hotel on Saturday 22nd May. Around 50 students plus several members of staff attended. It was a fantastic night and the staff at the hotel praised all for their good behaviour and fun throughout. Well done to all students who took part.

See the "Prom Night Gallery" in the "News and Events" menu for some great memories of the evening.

Joining Twitter

Abbey College now is on Twitter. We can be found by putting in a search under Abbey Manchester so hope our students and others will start tweeting with us soon!

New Principal confirmation

On 29th March 2010 Liz Elam was appointed Principal of Abbey College Manchester. She had been the interim Principal since the retirement of Jenny Thomas last summer. We wish her the best of luck in continuing the fantastic progress the college has made over the last few years.

  • EXCELLENT A LEVEL RESULTS

  • We are delighted with our A Level results this year and the most pleasing aspect is that, despite the concerns raised in the national press, almost all of our students have gained places in their chosen courses and universities.

Our value-added for A Level students is 1.5 grades above their baseline attainment and for Retake A Levels the average grade increase is 3 grades.

Congratulations to all our A Level students.
